Good news first.
This morning Fifty had her babies! I haven't yet counted how many there are but I believe we have around 10 little squeakers born. We are expecting agouti and black dumbos in both standard and dwarf sizes! If you are on the messaging list you will receive updated e-mails on the progress of the litter.
Bad news second.
I am so upset to say that Curly Fry, despite our best efforts, passed away from birthing complications. I apologize to those who have been waiting to see her litter. I am absolutely heartbroken. For this reason I apologize if my online work is not as fast as it should be. I will do my best to get update emails out and keep everyone in the loop.
I thank you all again for your continuous support, and I'm sure all of us are equally as excited to see Fifty's little ones grow up. Talk soon.

I have converted a reptile terrarium into a new play place for the ratties above my bed. Each day I'll be moving a group of ratties into my room where they can explore the play place and find hidden treats and climb out to run around my room! Very excited because I can also keep the babies above my bed overnight.
Complete with hammocks, cardboard, wooden toys (more to come), food and water, socks, fleece and hidden treats all over the place. Of course 5 seconds after putting ratties inside they go nuts and destroy the whole place!

Dean - female american blue dumbo - Born Sept. 16, 2015- No adoption fee for the following reason:
She has a golden temperament and is one of my favourite rats. She has never been bred however as she has had consistent respiratory flareups. I believe she is simply sensitive to environment changes as she has never required or reacted to treatment, her flareups simply fade away. I mention this though because she does sneeze regularly! This sensitivity has never impacted the other rats in the rattery and it has never hindered her. I am unsure what this impact will have on her long term.
