Steps to adoption or to be put on my messaging list

Step 1

View my available rats!

Step 2

Read through my adoption form. This form recognizes that you are aware and accept of all terms and conditions. If you adopt, it is implied that you have read this form and agree to all that is written.

Step 3

Please read my "All About Rats" section and fill out my questionnaire. This helps me assess your level of knowledge on ratties and give advice! The questionnaire must be sent to me before any reservations or adoptions are made.

When all of this is complete, send me a message!

If there are no rats currently available

and you would like to be messaged when they are, please send me a filled out questionnaire to be put on my messaging list. When you are on my messaging list you will be sent a message when babies are born and when babies are available for reservation (usually between 2 and 5 weeks of age, though this may vary) and at the time when you receive the message that babies are available for reservation they are “first come first reserve”. Please note that everyone on my messaging list will be receiving updates via email only.

If you do not receive a message back within 24 hours please feel free to send me another message.

After you are approved for adoption:

I will meet with you at the Don Mills Public Library with your rats and any other materials you may have requested (carrier, food, treats, etc.). I usually prefer that the adoption fee is payed in cash at the time of pickup but e-transfers pre-adoption are also accepted.

Deposits:

If you cannot pick your rat/rats up within 1 week of the time that they are ready to go to their new homes, I do require a 50% deposit on each rat and a $5.00 deposit per week on each rat that is being held. If you are adopting an older rat (a rat over 6 weeks) a 50% deposit is required immediately and if you cannot pick them up within 7 days after you reserve them, the same $5.00/week is required.
